Coming Soon Family Read Aloud for Christmas

I have just finished my newest book and it has gone through the editing process by JoEllen Claypool. Now it is in the proofing stage, back to my home so we can go over it again with a fine tooth comb before we send it in for publishing. This process has been very exciting, fun and a builder of ‘Background Knowledge’ for me as an author.

It is designed around introducing 12 Christmas Picture Books to be read as a family throughout the Christmas Holidays. I put in background information about the books, authors, and illustrators which create’s more interest around each of the books. It will not be officially launched until next year that way it could be ready for family reading during Christmas Season of 2023.

You might be asking yourself “Why would I be talking about this book a year before it will be published?” There are two reasons:

  1. I thought since this is just the beginning of the self publishing adventure it would be a good idea to bring my online friends along for the trip. I hope it will be as interesting for you as it will be for me and will give you some background knowledge about the publishing part of being and author.

  2. You can start looking for Christmas books right now. I would urge you to look for books that are well written. Read through a line or paragraph to see if the language flows as you read. Also check out the illustrations because the illustrations are an important part of the reading of the story. Superb illustrations will increase the power of the book.

After the Christmas Holidays is a good time to check the book stores for books that are on sale, Online you can pick up used books in most of the online book sites. Yard sales are also a good place to find Christmas books.

Here is a list of the books:

  1. RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER, written by Robert I. Lay

Quote from the introduction of the book:

When we are reading aloud to children, we are impacting their feelings and emotions through words they hear and pictures they see.
