On July 15, 2021 McCall Public Library invited Jylene Morgan back to read her newest book BUMMER and the Nanny Goat. And let me tell you we had so much fun.

Summer Reading Program
The Staff at the McCall Public Library create some great children programs
They combine Read Aloud Story Time with arts and crafts, games and always something else special. When the staff found out about Jylene’s newest book, BUMMER and the Nanny Goat. Casey Bruck, Programming Librarian reached out to his friend Michele Cretser and her partner from Bird Feather Ranch up above Riggins, Idaho.to see if she would bring some Nanny Goats for the kids to experience.
Read Aloud Session
Outside on the side yard of the Library, children and adults gathered on towels and rugs as Lifelong Educator Jylene Morgan reads her newest book BUMMER and the Nanny Goat.
Arts, Crafts and Food Tasting
To build background knowledge the staff created a great experience. After reading BUMMER and the Nanny Goat, the children got to wear BUMMER our Pet Bighorn Sheep horns, play with the wool and color pictures of Nanny Goats. And they got to taste the meat of the goat as well
Hands on Experiences with
The Nanny Goats
Petting of the mother Nanny Goat and holding her kid was fun. Bre Anderson Children’s Librarian enjoying time with the kids & showcasing BUMMER Our Pet Bighorn Sheep Horns, while others play with the go. They even got to watch Nanny Goat milk her baby.
But the Main Event was actually Milking the Nanny Goat.

This is a quote from the book BUMMER and the Nanny Goat. Jylene was actually writing about herself.
Did she finally milk the Nanny Goat in the story?
Well, let me tell you so many years later and with the right tools she DID MILK THE NANNY GOAT!!
