It's Coming…..Publish Date 6/1/21

A while ago I was thinking about “Why do I Write”. I finally happen upon the real reason. It is important to me that I write about the adventures, the trials and the love we had in our home. I do not want these events be forgotten.

As I sit here holding my newest book BUMMER and the Nanny Goat in my hands, I am so overwhelm with the emotion and the magnitude of having written this book. This brings me back, remembering, BUMMER, my four small children, the Nanny Goat. and the memories of that summer that was so full of adventure.

My newest book BUMMER and the Nanny Goat is coming out June 1, 2021. Watch for the preorder emails during the Month of May. When you preorder the book you will receive meaningful, fun and informative bonus materials. Make sure you subscribe on the website jylenemorgan.com for updates such as places I will be visiting, reading and signing, and much more.

I sent a number of pictures to Mathew Mew the illustrator that kinda described my feelings about the personality of Nanny Goat. My description of Nanny Goat was that she was very aloof, kind of an ornery old goat that just wanted to be left alone out on the lawn eating her grass. As my thoughts moved on I realized that she was an important integral part of raising BUMMER, after all she did supply the milk. Come to think of it I guess I did like her a little bit. However, when BUMMER was done drinking milk from the bottle Nanny was fired. I was very pleased and want to give A Big Thanks to Mathew Mew for capturing her personality so perfectly on the cover of this book. Notice the haughty look on Nanny’s face as she looks over her shoulder at our cute little BUMMER.

Another part of the cover was BUMMER standing on the Fish and game truck. The Fish and Game truck sat just outside the front door. She would jump from the step, hook her hooves onto about 1/2 inch smooth metal molding trim above the tire. spring up to the hood and onto the roof of the truck. It was amazing to watch her do this. You would never think that she would be capable of holding on to that narrow metal trim. This was a safety habit. She would then look all around making sure there were no predators near.

Here are a few examples of other books about Bighorn Sheep…

BUMMER Our Pet Bighorn Sheep written by Jylene Morgan. Of course I would list this one first. If you have not read this first book, you might consider ordering with pre-order for a special pricing. That way you can read the story of the first day BUMMER can into our family before you read BUMMER and the Nancy Goat.

Buford the Little Bighorn written and illustrated by Bill Peet. Buford is a scrawny little sheep, but he had a big problem his horns wouldn’t stop growing. They curved around and started to grow back toward him. He couldn't climb the big boulders and keep up with the other sheep. So he left the herd and made his way down to the meadow and meet up with a heard of cattle. Then fall arrived and the hunters came. They start to track him in the snow. See what happens when the hunters catch up with him. What a glorious ending.

Cimarron the Bighorn Sheep written by Sylvester Allred and illustrated by Diane Iverson. Available at Rocky Mountain Nature Association. It is spring in the Rocky Mountains, and Cimarron, the bighorn lamb, is experiencing the world around him for the very first time. Join Cimarron through the seasons of his first year as he comes face to face with Rocky Mountain wildlife. See how Cimarron learns to adapt and survive in this high mountain environment where every day is an adventure.

One of the other reason I write is to bring background knowledge to the children which intern builds vocabulary. Because children can not read a word that they have never heard.

Jylene Morgan is a retired educator. She is passionate about the importance of reading aloud to children from top quality children’s books. Writing about her life experiences she captivates her audience by telling the tales of her family’s adventures. The first several books are written about funny exchanges that occur when human and wild animal’s lives come together.

This is the day I got my Blueline Proofs of the new Book.
